Cosmetic Science is a branch of pharmacy that studies, manufactures and sells cosmetic products not related to pathologies, and cosmetics for application to the skin surface are one of its star products. Furthermore, there are many other products in pharmacies, such as toothpastes that are not cosmetic, as well as products that are swallowed, inhaled, injected or implanted.
In Cosmetic Science, in addition to topical prescribing, oral prescribing is also of utmost importance. In order to be able to provide the highest quality pharmaceutical advice, it is necessary to acquire very specific knowledge of dermatology, cosmetic chemistry, nutricosmetics, as well as their formulation and the protocols for cosmetic advice in pharmacies.
The aim of this programme is to provide an exhaustive knowledge of all the most relevant aspects of this branch of knowledge and to prepare pharmacy, dermatology, chemistry, cosmetics, etc. professionals in all the necessary knowledge to carry out a high quality dermo-cosmetic prescription adapted to each dermal alteration that may occur during the exercise of their professional life.
